Great Pottery Throw Down 2022 - Week 10

It's all over and AJ has been duly crowned. And it is interesting to look back at my blogs from previous weeks to see how accurate my predictions were . . .

In week 2 I predicted that Anna and AJ would probably make it through to the final - but not Christine. By week 6 I was predicting that AJ was the lead contender to take away the trophy. AJ did undoubtedly have the excellent hand building skills and was a good thrower as well. I think my lack of confidence in Christine was because her throwing really wasn't that strong and it does seem to be pretty key to getting on in the competition.

Looking back at pictures on the makes you can see that some potters really grew in confidence and ability particularly Christine and Jenny.

AJ was a worthy winner but it might have been more interesting in a way if they weren't in it and we had had either Jenny or Lucinda against Christine and Anna. But a thoroughly likeable bunch and it looked as though it was a good experience for them. Let's hope the future holds good things for all the contestants, whatever routes they pursue.
